Yes I Do Exist – Yes I Used To Be Gay – Yes Change Is Possible

Many times each day people will tell me I do not exist, that people can not come out of homosexuality. I wish I had a dollar for every time someone told me to celebrate the way God made me. “Charlene, God made you a lesbian, celebrate it . . . ” No folks, homosexuality is not innate . . .

  1. i think that gay marriage should be allowed in certain states but not in other states –,

  2. I know you exist . . . and I’m standing right there with you. God bless.

  3. Charlene, it is a first-class mistake, and the heart of hubris, to take one’s personal experience and translate it into a universal mandate. Folks change all the time, in all sorts of ways – I’m learning to like cilantro, which I couldn’t stand a few years ago. I fear that hyper-conservative folks are using you as a poster child, and while I hope you find your peace and purpose, I urge your to embrace humility and gratitude for your journey, and caution you in making your journey a universal truth, which it isn’t. Not sure why your friended me on FB, but I guess we’ll find out.

    • Tom I appreciate your thoughts yet I beg to differ with you.

Sharing my personal experience is not a mistake, first class or otherwise . . .

The Apostle Paul shares with us that we go through things in life and later on God brings others into our lives who are going through the same or similar things. By sharing my story of how God healed me of my homosexuality it has helped countless others.

Right now God has brought many parents of homosexual children into my life and by my sharing my story of healing and freedom, they have hope that the same will happen to their child. The healing part, I also share the whole story, the joys of the life I lived and the sorrows. I share with them that it is a journey that only their child can take and their parents must place them in God’s hands.

Tom, again, I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts but if I listen to what you have to say I will not be following the calling on my life, and that is to be open with everyone about my almost 20 years in the homosexual life . . .

If I did not share my story, and others like me did not share our story, then those who are caught in the life would not see that change is indeed possible and that if they no longer want the life they are leading, there is a way out and that way is through Christ Jesus.

Though to any who are reading this and do want out of their homosexual life, know that it is not an easy road and also know that many will tell you it is impossible because you are born this way . . . which is not truth . . .

    • I must say that I totally disagree with your statement that her journey is not a universal truth.. If we are true believers of God’s Word (the Bible) then we must also believe that he is the universal authority and the creator of the heavens and the earth as taught in the book of Genesis.. If not, then are we not hypocrites, for God teaches that he wants us to be hot or cold and not luke warm.. So, either we believe his teachings and accept them as 100% devine inspiration and truth or not at all.. The choice is ours to believe and practice God’s laws and teachings and be rewarded with eternal life in God’s Kingdom, or choose to follow Satan’s teachings and be eternally damned and cast into the lake of fire with him.. The choice is yours and hopefully you will make a wise one.. God Bless.

    • Tom I appreciate your concern and have thought much about what you had to say. My thoughts keep going back to God’s word that tells us to share with others the things we have experienced in this life, especially the hard and challenging things, of which I believe coming out of homosexuality is one. God’s word tells us that it is through our experiences, trials, and tribulations, that others are helped. If you need the Scripture references I will get them for you.

We also know from Scripture that there is nothing new under the Sun and that what we go through and experience is nothing new, many others have gone through it as well . . . so it makes sense to share with others how you got through it and that one can get through it.

Not sure Tom how we got connected on Facebook but I am always glad for my new connections there. God works in so many ways and I doubt He would not use facebook to do what He will do . . .

Take care now and thanks so much for taking the time to post a comment. For some reason I have never seen this comment but I am now . . . Charlene

  4. All TRUTH is subject to personal experiance isn’t it? If you did not have a homosexual EXPERIANCE you would never call yourself homosexual. If you do not have a PERSONAL, life changing experiance with Christ you do not call yourself “born-again”. You can say’ “I believe in Jesus, He was a great man”. But noting has changed on the inside of you until you EXPERIANCE Him. At that point you point the way for other’s to experiance what you have….if they will listen and if they are ready they too, will take a leap of faith and believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Then and only then will they see His power and love!

  5. I am so glad to see someone standing up for the truth and sticking to it. I have not been a lesbian in my life, but I have been a sinner. I have been amazed at the change knowing Jesus Christ has made in my life. Learning the Bible and allowing Jesus to change me has so altered the way I see the world in me in it, I am not the same person either..
Like the Bible says “I have been “born again !” just as you have, Charlene. Jesus Christ has the power to change lives. It can be a painful transformation. But He is with you the whole way, and that makes it so worth-it.
How do you fall in love with someone you can’t see? Ask the Lord to show you how. If you really want to know, He will amaze you.
I know it is hard for someone to imagine being any other way, or thinking another way, but if you really want change Jesus Christ can do it. He would love to.
